Today Clearent announced that it appointed Brooks Terrell to its Board of Directors. As the former Chief Technology Officer of Heartland Payment Systems, Brooks led the development of the company’s front-end and back-end payment platforms for processing credit card payments. Currently he is President of The Tierra Advisory Group, which provides consulting services to investment firms, payment processors and Independent Sales Organizations (ISOs) regarding their strategic technology initiatives.
“I’m excited to become a member of Clearent’s Board,” said Terrell. “I’ve been very impressed with their ability to create innovative technology that enables them to successfully compete against the major payment processors. Their unique back-end processing platform is very attractive to sales partners and merchants because it allows them to go straight to the source for their payment processing needs, and provides greater flexibility. Plus I really enjoy working with their talented team.”
Brooks joins a Board that boasts an impressive legacy in the payments industry. For example, Norm Tice, former Chairman of the Board of MasterCard, has more than 40 years of experience in the banking and credit card industries. Ron Congemi is the founder and former CEO of Star Systems, which grew to become the nation’s largest ATM and PIN-based debit network. Miles Kilburn was the EVP of Strategy at Concord EFS and David Truetzel was the CFO at Paymentech.
“Brooks has been a tremendous asset to Clearent as an advisor, and we’re thrilled to have him join our Board,” commented Dan Geraty, CEO of Clearent. “We’re fortunate to have been able to assemble such a respected and dedicated group of individuals for our Board. We built our company with a long-term vision and their guidance has been invaluable in shaping our strategy and fueling our rapid growth.”
