Clearent has been made aware of people who received “order confirmation” emails that link to a malicious site that portrays itself as Clearent. This email did not come from Clearent, and the website is not affiliated with Clearent. This site prompts you to “install missing plug-ins.”
Please do not install any plug-ins, as they will install malicious software (called malware) or spyware on your computer.
Many criminals are using email scams to install malware on computers or to obtain financial information that can be used to steal from you. Please be cautious when you receive emails from unfamiliar sources.
It is critical that if you receive emails which don’t seem quite right that you do not click on the links!
